Many people live with the debiliting symptoms of IBS - constipation, diarrhoea, bloating, nausea, headache, belching, poor appetite, tiredness, backache, muscle pains, feeling quickly 'full' after eating and heartburn.
Situations such as family problems, work stress, exams, etc, may trigger symptoms of IBS in some people. Being anxious may make it difficult to control the symptoms.
For Irritable Bowel Syndrome, one of hypnotherapy's greatest benefits is its well-established ability to reduce the effects of stress. Your state of mind can have a direct impact on your physical well-being, even when you're in the best of health. If you're struggling with IBS, the tension, anxiety, and depression that comes from living with an incurable illness can actually undermine your immune system and further compromise your health.
Hypnotherapy can reduce this stress and its resultant negative impact by placing you in a deeply relaxed state, promoting positive thoughts and coping strategies, and clearing your mind of negative attitudes.
My IBS programme comprises of 5 sessions, over an 11-12 week period and is supported by the use of 5 very relaxing recordings to listen to at home, between appointments.
You can find out more about studies of IBS and Hypnotherapy on the BBC website.
The initial session will take approx 90 minutes and then subsequent sessions will last between 50 - 70 mins. Each session costs £75 (or £85 if it takes place after 5.30 p.m. weekdays or at any time on a Saturday).
Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or would like to book an appointment.
